    Default Any tool collectors about?

I have been going through my shed trying to clean up a bit. Over the years I have not only accumulated my own tools but my father was a Shipwright turned builder and my Father-in-law was a quarry man, turned builder turned nursery man. I have inherited heaps of stuff. Today I found a couple of things that may be of interest and after a little clean I find that they are in exceptionally good condition. I didn't even know I had them.

The first one is not too special. An Australian made P&N 1" x 8 Whitworth taper tap. 4 flute 5/8" square drive.

Item 2 is a 1 1/2" x 6 Whitworth plug tap. 4 flute with 7/8" square drive. It has a triangular symbol with the words Made in England. Not sure of the maker's symbol but this could be quite old.

The next 2 items are quite interesting and could easily be 100 years old or more. They are an Intermediate and Plug pair of 1 1/4" x 7 Whitworth taps, 3 flute with 3/4" square drive. What makes these interesting is that the Intermediate tap is made by Mathieson Tool Company of Glascow and the plug tap is made by J Whitworth & Co Manchester.

I have no idea where these came from originally, but I would guess they were probably something my Father-in-law had from his time spent making and maintaining heavy machinery in the blue metal quarries near Kiama NSW. They are in excellent condition and it is doubtful if they have even been used.

I must be slightly dumb: I do not understand.
Do you mean that I can have them no charge if I acknowledge the source (you)?
    That would be very easy!

    Cheers

I'm sorry for the confusion. I was just posting about the taps for interest. The topic title is misleading I can see now. I'll have a think on it and if I decide to offer them, I'll post in the Market section.

I dug a bit deeper into the box and found another tap. 3/4" P&N Whitworth.
