Any "must buy" goodies to get on amazon before it closes?
I can think of a few that seem a bit cheaper:
- Noga bases (a lot cheaper)
- Mitutoyo test indicators seem cheaper too, but I havent verified they're legit.

Unfortunately a VPN won't mask your Aussie CC.
Last year I attempted to buy an item from a US seller who would not ship to Aus and then use a shipping forwarder but they would also not accept my AUS credit card. I suspect Amazon will do the same thing. The main reason Amazon are doing this is not the GST but as an excuse to force Australians to use their Aust supply line where they can charge more. Many other tech companies do the same thing.
It appears that Aust Post will be set up as a GST collection point so you will have to show GST payment on any items before they deliver or you can collect from them so you wont be able to bypass GST payment if you use Aust Post. I suspect major couriers may be required to do that as well. What pisses me off is that couriers may have to increase charges to collect the GST.
I have no problem paying the GST as long as it consistent and don't increase other charges.
