Default File etching - until the early 2000 in East Germany - video

I just found this video. Amazingly interesting (to me), but sadly in German, with a thick East German accent.
You can set Youtube to do an automatic translation to English in settings, and then turn on the subtext.
While you can sort of follow the text, Google makes lots of errors due to the thick accent.
It used the word "arrow" instead of "file" consistently at least (the German words are very similar: Pfeil and Feile).
Anyway, I think the vision tell the story. Google gets a bit lost when the old man says that one day he went to work and the owner wasn't there. After making some enquiries the next day, it turned out that he fled to the West. So he took over the workshop, got his business qualifications and registration and kept going. Then the East German authorities decided that the business and property had inherent value and required him to that into a trust account, in case the original owner ever cme back - which he never did. I burst out laughing at the way he told that story. Google Translate didn't really get it.....
The video is of the very last box of worn out files he re-etched. The cost of re-etching files is now greater than replacement with new machine made files....

Having visited the Stasi museum in Berlin, I can tell you there's no f-in way you would go back if you'd escaped!

I discovered that this video is from a series of videos called something like "lost trade" (The last of their trade - translated)
If there is interest, I'll post a few more links of the metal-related ones?
If anyone has trouble with the settings for translation to English, do pipe up. The auto translation for subtutles isn't perfect but can generallybe followed well enough.

Thanks for this Joe, very interesting work, amazed at the 3 smithy's swinging hammers one after another.
Please keep loading these, love watching them.

Thanks for posting Joe. I was transformed into another world while watching that. I loved it.

You can't blame the owner. I was in Germany in 1980 and while I was there, people were shot trying to escape. Many people died trying to escape over the years.

Anyway, I was amazed at the manufacturing process of making those files and it that file stamping machine was not enough to impress then the hand stamping of the files is certainly an art worth respecting. Awesome. Thanks Joe.

Girl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.

If you like 'gang forging' - multiple people hitting the same spot in sequence, have a look at this video. The really impressive hammering bit is in the second half:
