Default Those Toy Chinese Plastic Lathes, In action machining aluminium

    Hey Guys

took me a while to get a one whole video of the lathe in action, this aluminium was annealed for 5mins with a blow torch than dunked in cold water actually under a running tap

i haven't used the lathe in a while and when i started the bit was blunt scroll forward to see it cutting better, in the video i was making a bearing spacer that holds the yamaha needle bearings in place the spacers is pushed out the side of the piston with the piston pin, its basically just a tool to hold the bearings in place

quiet a long video 30mins in the end i ended up making another piece as this lathe is no good for cutting off pieces however it does machine it well

Whoa - I couldn't stand that noise. Is it really that bad?
Lathe work to me is super quiet time, well maybe with some light classical music playing in the background.

Yep, that's the noise they put out Bob. I couldn't stand the one I had here, either, plus spend half a day to take of about 2 mm of hair.
I was glad when my brother asked for it back.

If you found that enjoyable as you probably did just imagine how much more pleasure you would have with a lathe that has power feed and can machine 2/5 mm of aluminium in one pass.
