Shaft size for bearing press fit
Hi All,
i am am making a tool post spindle similar to the ones in the workshop practice series books. The bearings I am using are Japanese NsK ones with a 15.00 mm internal diameter. What size should I make the shaft for a light press fit? I have tried consulting the tables available online but got hopelessly lost. The spindle is being designed to hold an er25 collet.
thanks in advance.

I'm not 100% sure but I think a K6 fit is what you're after
Shaft= +0.001 to +0.012
Edit: removed hole tolerance

Thanks fellas. That’s quite a bit smaller than I had in my head so I’m glad I asked.

To be honest I would make it a hand push fit, then loctite.
