    Default New Shed shaping up

Last year I started Building myself a new Garage in Sydney. I built the Garage around my Mill and A year on I finally have power and can start Tinkering. I got the Little Myford up and running tonight. Next up Figure out if I can run the 2 speed 3 Phase mill off a VFD or if I need to source a new VFD compatible motor.

    Hi Andre,

That lathe stand could do with a couple of struts to stop it moving about ! I've just made a tool drawer for mine.
    Best Regards:

Its sturdy the legs are 40x40x5 tube and has 5 mm top. I will be adding a drawer or a shelf at some point also.

    Hi Andre,

That shed is looking awesome. I'm happy for you that you can finally start tinkering again.

The lined walls always look so much more pleasing and warmer to the eye than the colorbond.

    Looks good Andre,

With the tools you have mentioned since joining us years ago, I imagined you would have a shed 50 metres long

Good idea to line your shed as it gives you more surface area to hang stuff from and insulates slightly.

Another positive is that it keeps the atmosphere away from machine surfaces.Ongoing airborne corrosion can be really to difficult to deal with as any shiny surface gets rusty ,fast around Mackay anyway.

How hard is it to keep rust / corrosion at bay in your part of Sydney?

I have been semi Busy. I have got the Hercus 260g running with some parts from Mal , and got the Hartford going. I bought a "Digital phase converter " from a mob in Melbourne and whilst I haven't taken the cover off it it appears too just be a VFD and a transformer. But it runs the 2 speed motor on the mill so I have no complaints so far.

I saw that and thought the same thing. A fast route to disaster.

Andre, p.ss all the rags off and replace them with paper towels.

Apart from that, it's good to hear from you. I didn't know you had a 260G.
