    Joe , Can you see the pics in post 1?

    In the 1st photo there is a die and die holder laying on the floor under the vice.

    It looks like the style and colour Rigid use, but could well be a knockoff.

    Another thought I had was about how the pipe was held in the vice.

    Was the position of the pipe, axis vertical or axis horizontal? There is more contact area if the pipe is horizontal and less likely to slip.

    Thanks, Grahame. I only just spotted the die and holder. That should work perfectly fine. Mine look the same. The vice looks a little on the small side - maybe a 3" (75mm) jaw width? I think Tiriaq, that clamping the thin wall pipe horizontally and with a solid piece inside it is your best chance.
