    Good Morning Steve,

I originally thought that you were referring to the "T" slots in the press drill table where they go right through like the ones on my Fobco Star.
Like others have said plates that run in the slot and full "T" nuts are my preferred method of securing things to the table. I tend to use hex bolts and washers or stud bar cut to suit, simply because with things like jigs, vices and the like, they tend to be things that you use repeatedly. So the fastenings are kept with those items. I have a couple of plates with a pair of tapped holes and short bolts in them, reserved just for one particular drill vice which also has a pair of locating pegs screwed into the base. Useful on the XY table that is secured to the drill press base.
    Best Regards:
    Baron J.

I decided to make some T Nuts out of Delrin on my CNC Machine.I can't imagine having to tighten them that much that I will distort or damage them. We will see.I can just use M12 bolts now. Got some very thick washers of Ebay and some flange nuts.Should work fine.Had minor incident where the material moved just after the first cut ( right side. )Another clamp stopped it happening again....Steve

    DELRIN??? For a T-nut ????

um ... I didn't think of that. It's rather clever.
The Delrin is in compression between the bolt head and the T-slot rather than in shear along the threads.
    Clever.

    Cheers
    Roger

    Hi Steve,

Interesting application for a plastic, I've seen many sizes and styles of nut using injection moulded plastic ! It does occur to me that these "T" nuts could be also be 3D printed, and as Roger says, the plastic material is in compression, so the only question would be, how much a particular plastic would creep under load.

Now who has a 3D printer and is game to test this one out ?
