joining linear rail
Hi guys, just wondering if anyone's had anything to do with joining linear rail. A friend of mine is designing a 6 metre long cnc router table but can't get hold of that length of 20 or 30 mm linear rail
I don't know how the bearings would handle the butted up join. Not very well I would imagine.

It would potentially be awkward but i would try something like milling the ends square and then scraping them dead flat and vertical, awkward thing to support on a surface plate but doable.

You can order rails intended to be butted.
Have to align them quite precisely of course.

Why do you need a 6m long router? Just curious.
