Replacement leadscrew
Looking to replace the well worn leadscrews on my Takisawa TSL1000 lathe, but struggling to find a local supplier.
I've called a few but so far come up blank.
Main leadscrew is 30x4mm RH, cross slide is 22x5 LH.
Worst case I'll have a go at making a replacement for the cross slide, but can't really do that until after replacing the main one.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried an industrial bearing supplier? From memory THK do ACME or trapezoidal threads - you may have to find a machine shop to shape the ends but that should not be difficult.

Yes, tried a couple of bearing supply places. My local one who are usually good at sourcing odd size bearings etc haven't been able to locate anything in-country. They're going to try offshore but I suspect will rapidly lose interest.
LinearBearings can only do a 6mm and 5mm pitch in the 30mm, and nothing in a 22mm LH.
I could cope with a different pitch for the crossslide, but definitely want LH.
For the main one it might be possible to go to a smaller diameter as I'm likely to have to remake the half nuts anyway, but want to retain the 4mm pitch.

I'm pretty sure that my solution would not be considered good engineering practice, but as you are making new half nuts, would it be possible to turn and or grind the thread till the width was uniform along the full length of the lead screw. This would leave the crests of the thread narrower than the valleys, but with suitable half nuts it might work if no better solution is easy to attain. At least the back lash could be reduced.

I think even if you do find a screw with the right pitch, you might struggle to find one with sufficient pitch accuracy to act as a leadscrew. I'd want some serious assurances from anyone who claims to be able to supply such an animal about the pitch accuracy of the screw they are supplying. That's a nice lathe, and if the rest of the machine justifies the expense of doing a full leadscrew replacement, I think I'd want it to be up to scratch.
