    Default GCS900-3DB DRO setup question

    GCS900-3DB DRO

Purchased one of these cheap DROs for my cheap Chinese Mill.

Mounted the first (easiest) scale and couldn't resist trying it out.

Readout is backwards. Move X axis in a positive direction and the scale reads negative.

Manual says nothing about reversing direction. Does anybody know if this setting is available?

Or does the scale need to be reversed on its mounting. Seems odd if this is the case but no big deal.

And yes, I have been using CNC for years and I know which direction is positive.

Unless it is a fix by changing plug point or something just as easy just use it as is.

If it's like my 4 and 5 axis ones you need go into advanced user settings.
The button had me stumped, it's behind the GCS900 brand writing, right in the middle on the front.
Feel around and you will find it.

Your password should be in your manual, but both of mine are the same 3211.
Probably best not to change it.

    Thanks for that Dave.

I will carefully poke about with that setting.

Seems that the Chinglish manual is a bit hard to follow for an old fella like me.

    No problem
I already had 2 Misters and a Sino for many years when I bought these 2, 4-5 years ago, but it had me stumped for days until I contacted them.
I don't know of any other units with a stupidly placed button like this. Some you have to hold a button on power up though.

That photo from the manual shows the procedure, if your instruction manual is different let me know and I'll photograph the other pages for you.
