Bridgeport x-axis DC motor needed.
After much troubleshooting, and the welcome help of another forum member i have discovered the field coils for my 6f drive motor are roasted. If i have to i will just replace it with a self contained drive but id like to keep it original if i can. If anyone has or knows of a bridgeport or clone going to the scrap please let me know.
Drive unit looks like this (6f) but the motors are all the same specs, 109v DC 4.5A 5000 rpmimages (2).jpg

Hi there,
I can appreciate wanting to keep the machine original. In my search for info and parts for my servo type 90, I came across a couple of companies in the US that sell parts for Servo power drives, including (If I remember correctly) the 6F that you have. While the prices are as expected not the cheapest, it at least may give you an option for repair.
Here is one place I found which lists the part you need, I think.
Bridgeport Power Feed 6F-C Motor, Switches, & Hardware Parts
Good luck!

Thanks for the link Simon! It could be rewound but im.just a bit wary of the cost, i will make some enquiries in that dorection though. I figured most of these would be junked because of brush failure so i might get lucky.

Going by the link Simon posted, I can't see the cost to get it rewound would be over 1K, which is what the replacement would be including postage.
