Anyone found a good marking pen?
I have been using Sharpie permanent markers - extra fine point black. They are great when they work; nice fine line, sharp black, good on steel, alu, paint. The problem is that every time I go to use it, its dry. I have to flick, doodle on paper etc to get the ink flowing. This is despite religiously replacing the cap firmly immediately after use. This is extremely frustrating.
Anyone found one that's good and reliable?
Thanks in adv. & I did search before asking

I use the "paint markers" some are 2-3 years old, occasionally it comes out a bit too much, I just wipe most of it off, leaving a residue to mark off on.
KrynTo grow old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

I use the Sharpie's fine point one's mostly the blue one for marking out. I ran into the same issue you have found, so now I always leave them standing point down when not in use. This keeps them alive for a lot longer.

PICA MARKERS AUSTRALIA
These things are awesome!
I first found them in Europe several years ago. All Tools are stocking them locally now.

Milwaukee Inkzall's aren't bad. I get mine from Total Tools, plenty of other places sell them:

Funny as!
Just did a quick check on EBay for the Milwaukee markers.
$45.99 for a 4pk from a "Wowdeals27799" in Melbourne with free postage.
$9.13 for the same 4pk from a "Bic Warehouse Australia" with free postage. This seller is located in the US.
The Pica Marker is interesting tho. I saw an extended point marker in a YouTube video (Oxtools) quite a long time ago. I tried to find them in Australia without success. I will have to look into these.
I have had varying success with markers. They always seem to dry up just as you need them. The fine point markers seem to be the worst.

The extended tip on the Picas makes them great for deep hole marking.
I use fine tip sharpies too, they don't seem to last too well though.

Whiteout correction pens are great for marking things, haven't used them for lines though.

Try Staedtler permanent Lumocolor "F", which are "dry safe" and available in newsagents and Officeworks etc.
Not bad for electronics on PCBs, and glass and metals, CDs and DVDs etc.

I've been using BIC Markit pens, they work well, are cheap and available in Coles.
