Lube fittings
I have a number of these nipples and I am not sure about the gun that is needed ? Or what these type of nipples are called ?
The thread is 1/8" BSPT , I think also called a GAS thread .

These look like the grease nipples often used on British vehicles up to the 1950s. I think I have a couple of old guns somewhere with heads to fit these nipples. These and the heads for conventional grease nipples were interchangeable on grease guns. From memory some had an O ring to seal on the side of the nipple, others relied only on the pressure of the gun fitting on the head of the nipple for a seat, which did not work if the head of the nipple was damaged. I suspect most of the old type on surviving vehicles would have been replaced by now with conventional 1/8 gas / 1/8 BSP nipples which are readily available.

I saw these referred to on PM recently, so I got a couple, they come packed with grease, but if you clean the grease out and fill them with oil they work just fine, normal grease nipples ( zerk types ) and ball oilers all work with the one tip.

I had a couple that were packed solid with grease, some previous owner didn't know they were for oil.. and the oil pressure was sufficient to flush the grease out.
High pressure oil, non leaking and cheap, ... ticks all my boxes

morrisman,
Are you sure that the Ford grease nipples are 1/8 BSP (28 TPI)? I would have expected to see 1/8 NPT (27 TPI) on a Ford. Maybe they used BSP nipples on the British built Fords? I am surprised though.
Both the old grease guns I have are the same general design as the one in Ray's link, where the action of pumping the grease helps to provide the seal on the nipple. One came with a 1950 Wolseley; I can't remember the origin of the other, but it is pre WW2. The British car makers did recommend using a light grease at that time though.

Ok
I like the chainsaw lube device, it is small enough to get into small cavities and tight spots . I have tried this idea ( link below) and it does perform well , the downside is it is rather large and awkward , it also leaks if you store it vertically.
High Pressure Oiler
The poms did assemble Model A's but who knows if they used their own nipples ! The thread is so fine, its nigh on impossible to measure it , it does appear to be slightly tapered
