As it's on EBay, that's probably the best place for it, I wouldn't touch it, even if it was $50.00. I was given a C2 (a big brother to this one) metal lathe by my brother, he's doing me a big favour in wanting it back, spent more time in pieces than together. It cost me more than $600 in parts and postage. Save your money and frustration, go buy something a LOT better.

Poke the angry bear.....
A poor craftsman blames his tools.
All jokes aside it does look fairly ordinary, possibly okay for doing some timber work and some plastics, wouldn't be trying to cut metals with it. I understand that the seller is angry that its rubbish but certainly not doing any favours for himself with the listing.
Being that its in Brisbane and your in Melbourne I guess its not yours zbm.
If the seller reads this, I'll give ya $50 to save you wearing out endmills turning it into swarf...

Who would have thought such a rigid lathe wouldn't work well with $2 brazed carbide tooling?
Yet he has a mill at work big enough at work to turn it into swarf....... now I am worried

Why would anyone pay $600 for something like that in the first place?
