Moving again...
Hi All,
My first post on the new forum. Still getting used to it. I haven't been very active lately due to selling my unit and buying a house in the last 2 months (plus spent some time O/S).
So, moving again. Hopefully last time. Loaded my lathe, mill, shaper, drill press and power saw onto a friend's vehicle trailer. Used a engine crane for the lifts. The removalist is a relative, so he and his offsiders hung around and helped load everything up. Made my job so much easier. They said they would help me unload and move into the new location. Taking the engine crane and a heavy duty trolley for the unload.
I've been kicked out of the new garage into a garden shed out back, its about 4 x 3 mtrs on a concrete slab with some rudimentary power. I'm thinking about getting proper GPO wired in and better lighting as well. Will also have to think about insulation.
I've included some photo's of the trailer and it's load. I used 7 generic ratchet straps (all about 250-300kg rated from china) and one really good industry 2.5T strap for securing the load. Fingers crossed it all holds, I have about a 140km trip.
Cheerio
Ben.

Go a little further?
Bwal74,
If you don't mind travelling a little further, you could drop that 260 off at my joint!

Safe trip, though I'm not so sure about this "I've been kicked out of the new garage into a garden shed" business, doesn't sound to good at all

Ben, they won't fit into the garden shed, head west and I'll store them for you until you have a decent shed to put them in.
Hope the move goes well for you.

Made it, tailstock and all!
Was a hairy ride though, we didn't really pack the trailer to well. All the weight was at the front and was a lot heavier than I thought.
I've included some photo's of the new tool home. The shed is about 4 x 3 mtrs, I didn't think I'd get everything in until my wife suggested selling some of my stuff. AS IF!

Quite a nice little temporary home for the tools, a bit to clean though.
Glad to see everything made it there OK.
