Thought that was a good idea, worth trying it in future ?

Might not have been of use in Morrisman's recent epic effort but possibly for something less severely stuck ?

    Thanks Jon,

That dovetailing bench is a work of art - even my wife would allow that in the house....

Aahh that explains the email addressed to Steamwhisperer saying my Instagram account has been hacked and I should follow the link to reset my password.
Not bad considering I don't have an account and have never used Instagram.
This arrived as soon as I downloaded the book.
    Beware guys.

Sounds interesting. I have not seen any emails come in.

I did not need to give an email address. I clicked on the link and the book was downloaded straight away.

    Hi Dean
I didn't need to give an email address either yet it still came addressed to steamwhisperer from (supposedly) Instagram.

Even more interesting, but also weird. How could anyone get your email address from you clicking on a link. The link would have to allow spyware to be uploaded to your computer and pass on the address. This would take time.

    Grahame's situation is different again.

I have still not received any unusual spam. Just the usual stuff.

Quick update. I have just had a look at the book and found out it is a scam in itself anyway. Nothing bad about it, but it is just an index of web pages featuring stuff being made. I have used the Homemade Tools website before and had no issues with it. It is a bigger version of the book. There are some very nice tools on the site and when you click on one you are directed to the webpage where the build is shown. No problems here, but I was hoping to see the actual build info without loading extra web pages.

Just my concern for data limits again. Early next year the new satellite ("Sky Muster", named by 6 year old girl as a result of a drawing competition) will be available (1st one launched on 1st Oct) for use so I was told in an email. "(similar ADSL2+)" is their words. There is a thread on Whirlpool Forum about speeds of satellite connections which I shall be watching when the new service is established. Activ8 is not high on their list. Members report actual up/down speeds and list the times. Currently based on the IPStar satellite, but I'm betting there will be a new thread based on the new addition.

Guys - you don't have to give an email address to download the ebook. It's just a plain-jane PDF file: http://download.homemadetools.net/50MustReadTools.pdf . If anyone's getting prompted for an email address, or there are any other legitimate security issues, concerns, or questions whatsoever, please contact me immediately at [email protected], and I'll make it my priority to resolve it (even on a Saturday).

I should add that skepticism is probably wise in situations like these. 99.9% of people who post about their websites on forums are scammers.

But the remaining 0.01% of us have something good to contribute.
