Hi Andre,
Well you are going to be busy for a while!
I will be watching…..
SimonGirl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.

Hi Andre. Looking good. Woodland grey is the roof colour of my shed. I would never thought to use it on a machine. It looks great!
Having fun with your engine crane? Stuff always gets in the way with mine.... even when I think I have made enough room!

Yeah moving stuff around with the engine crane can be a little challenging.

Well the weekends fun begins. I moved the machine back into position and also dismantled the head
The head is very solidly built,The drive is very well thought out with the main drive pulley driving the top bearing via two pins whicn ,then drives the quill via a sliding key. The quill has two bearings and a bronze bush and the top bearing housing has two bearingsBETTER TO HAVE TOOLS YOU DON'T NEED THAN TO NEED TOOLS YOU DON'T HAVE

Got everything back inside. Next weekend I will clean up the table and decide if I'm capable of making a new x axis screw

x axis
You are getting stuck into that mill
IS your lathe bed long enough to make the X axis ACME screw ? Maybe TAFE has a lathe big enough ?
The x axis bronze nut sits in a casting under the table , I looked at the nut and it seems to have a tapered pin holding it in. Are you making a delrin Nut ?

It's alive. Haha I spent the last week finishing it off. The motor an spindle are super smooth and quite. One major problem I have misplaced 3 bSf cap screws
