Adjustable Reamer
hi Guys
Has anyone in melbourne got an adjustable reamer for .585inches that I can either borrow or use at your place. I am repairing a lathe that the previous owner had forgotten to put oil in the lead screw spindle bearing. I have got it apart and just want to clean up the spindle before I reassemble it.
I dont want to buy a new one as I will probably never use it again.

Roger, if no one in Melbourne is able to assist, I have a spare in that size (B) that I can post across if it will help.

Well, this is embarrassing Roger. I responded and clearly didn't click 'Submit Reply'
Here is what I wrote, (Love 'Auto Restore')
Hi Roger,
I am confident I have one but sadly it is one of those cheapies. If you sneak up on the final dimension though it should be ok.
There are a couple in the set missing so Murphys Law normally dictates...
If it's not too late I'll have a look.
Sorry about that.

Just popped out to the shed and checked Roger and we are in luck.
It's yours if you would like to borrow it, ie if i'm not too late

Roger's choice Phil - I haven't sent anything off. Mine's a Sutton but still requires sneaking up...

Reamer
Hi Michael and Phil
I have accepted Michaels offer so thanks to all concerned.
The spindle doesnt need much work but I would prefer to do it properly rather than some emery on a "cheap hone". At least it will be parallel when finished.

Hi Roger.
Sorry I only just noticed this thread. I have one sitting on my desk, microset brand, marked 17/32 to 19/32. That would be in the range. It appears to be nice and sharp.
I'm in Thomastown, and will be at work tomorrow. (Sat) if that helps.
If Michael hasn't posted his yet, your welcome to borrow it or come and do it here.
Regards Phil.
