Plastic dipping DIY
Is it possible to do plastic dipping at home? I would like to re coat the handles of a pair of pliers etc.

Hi Ken,
Isn't plasti dip designed for stuff like that, or is it too hard? I'm sure someone on the forum has commented on it before.

Hi Ken,
Yes there is. It's name may be something like Plasti-Dip.Its a granulated powder product. You heat the item to be coated with a gas flame and dip it in the powder.

Heatshrink tube works well, especially the double walled stuff.

You can also get heat double wall heatsrink with a glue on the inside. It stops it from twisting off with heavy use and helps block out the moisture as well.

mmm...if the existing plastic is damaged and if you do any electrical work I"d strip all the old plastic off ...and then go buy a new insulated pair for electrical
