Scraping
Can anyone tell me where I might buy a decent flat blade engineers scraper in Sydney? I would like to learn to scrape so eventually I might be able to tackle the ways on my lathe. I can't seem to find much at all on line in Australia and postage from the states is way too expensive.I am thinking I would need one of about 18" in length. Any advice on the subject would be welcome. Was there ever a Sydney scraping class or plans for one?

Your best bet is to read through the four or five entire threads on scraping on this forum and get hold of all the literature they link to for information.
Then you should contact 'Machtool' (Phil). I believe he may still have some for sale.
He was one of the two teachers of the Melbourne scraping courses.
If you can drum up enough support in Sydney - number of potential strudents - and a venue, I suspect he could be talked into running a course up there....Cheers, Joe
