If you have friends in the USA, you could get them to send it to you, after you pay them for it and postage. Otherwise some kind member over there could contact arrange it for you.

Report them to Ebay, they may then ban them listing in Australia.!!

    Thank you, Steamwhisperer

I have been contacted privately by a member who is in the process on importing the same.

UUUeee ,Thanks for the info its gone into the lathe threading file.
As yet, I have not cut an ACME thread yet but understand that I require the dimension at the thread root for the width of the "nose" of the male thread .
The gauges that I have seen pictures of, have those nose widths ground into the flank of the tool.
This will greatly simplifly the grinding of the tool.
From what I have picked up on the net the tricky bit is the angles in the side clearances of the ground tool.
Thanks to all who have replied.

    cheers
    Grahame

Default Starrett No.284 Screw Thread Gauge

I brought a Starrett No.284 Acme Screw Thread Gauge on E-bay for $26.58 including postage.
This is a accuratly ground tool and I believe very good value.
Why trade accuracy for a cheaper tool.
