    Default Magnetic chuck

    Hi

Been playing with the old mag. chuck... Its a Japanese brand, no English writing on it . Its approx. 8 X 6 " . The table has a slightly pitted appearance , it isnt as good as new .

Seems that the strongest gripping force is in the centre of the table . I can lift up the whole chuck, with a piece of 30mm square stock stuck to the table .

Having never used one, is there any chance the workpiece would fly out under load ?

    Mike

    Depends on the force.

    Hi Mike,

Mag Chucks are good for grinding applications not so good for milling.

As Pipeclay says depends on the force...

    Regards
    Ray
