Default Buying small amounts of bright round bar in Sydney?

Since I don't spend all that much time here any more, I've lost track of places to buy small amounts of metal.

Right now I'd like to lay my hands on some bright round bar, 7/8" or 22mm, don't need more than 600mm but I'll happily buy a metre or 2. I need to make a new screw & shaft for my $58 surface grinder.

Where can I get it, preferably reasonably close to Parramatta?

    Thanks.

Edconsteel in Marigold road, Revesby is about as close as you'll get for a decent selection.

Metaland?? down in Silverwater on Silverwater road may sell it (entrance is via a back street, off Carnarvon St, Stanley St I believe.

    Cheers

    Even try Edcon at Blacktown.
If you can find what you want in an off cut it will be less 40% at the moment.

Blacktown is close enough though Silverwater is even closer, so I'll check both of them out.

    Thanks.

There's a bloke called George, who runs an offcut shop through eBay and quicksales.com.au, who often sells small quantities of bright steel in various configurations. Seller name is 'offcuts-galore'.

I've bought rod and plate from him a few times and he's pretty easy to deal with.
