It could be cheap, might be in top condition... The paint job does not inspire confidence though.... It would stil be worth a look at that price though...
Hercus's sell for around that price...And this machine is better then a hercus...Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.

Still though the lathe looks to be in good condition, but i guess you can only know until you go for a look and see.
The guy must want a good price for it considering there has been 11 offers.

It doesn't have a lot of tooling and D1-3 is pretty scarce. Also it has Gamet bearings in the headstock which is fine if they're in good shape & disastrous if they're not. Also only a 26mm bore IIRC.
I've got a Chipmaster which shares a lot of common parts but in theory made to a higher standard of accuracy, 35mm bore and with a variable speed drive. If that lathe was closer I might take a look as I've a ton of D1-3 tooling and I could set 1 up as a dedicated collet lathe. Fortunately I'm not in Sydney ATM.
Agree that it's a lot more lathe than a Hercus, in fact there isn't any real point comparing the 2. If it's in good condition I'd pay the asking price and not even think about it.
