    Default Compound Drill vice

I am trying to remove the bottom nut from this vice, I can't see a lock screw or thread have tried tapping it out but not movement as yet.

Has anyone pulled one apart and removed the bottom slide completely ??

I worked on one of these a few months back for the grandfathers home made lathe, but can't remember the nut. Do you have a picture of the problem nut?

Dave its the one which allows the bottom screw to operate the first slide under the bottom.
I want to remove the slide and its stopping me from doing so
Have rung H&F's they are looking into it also.

Dave everything is off except the slide.

Just found message left on phone from George at H&F's says I must have a tight one as ones on the shelf are loose and retained in via the screw. So try tapping a little harder and its should come out. Will give it a go tomorrow. Thanks for your input Dave
