Geez, great score Dave.
I'm on the vague look out for a surface plate, but was thinking 600x300 size region.
Might end up just buying a carbatec small one...

Thanks guys,
It has been a long wait to get one. I was going to buy one from Greg years back but the freight up here would have killed the deal.
Phil I am still in disbelief, you are first in line if I decide to sell one, but I am not sure what I am going to do at this stage. I am sure my son would sell you one to get it out of his way after I didn't have much room on my side for both, LOL

Haha. Mine came out of its box yesterday now the boat engine has vacated the reserved place.
I am very impressed - a lovely looking bit of granite and the inspection certificate shows that the plate is going to be more than good enough for anything within my skills. There's even hope that the certificate is true seeing as RayG did an independent verification on one.

The bandsaw and the drill press are both great gloats.
Provided the drill press is not badly worn it would be a great buy - it's Japanese.
I like the depth indicator on the side of the head.
I may copy that idea (one day).
Cheers

I hope the drill press is not to worn I bought it sight unseen all I have to go off is the photos and the description from Gumtree " I don't know any thing about this it was left in my garage by a friend who moved away" . It's 3 phase

Good score Andre.
One of my drills is similar to that only it's Chinese. I think you will find it doesn't have a Morse taper, instead the end of the spindle suits the chuck taper, thats what the nuts for to get the chuck off, though it never works.
The spindle down feed stop is great, mine is on the other side and has a small scale riveted into the key way.
