Nice work with the oil cans Ben! I just hope they don't leak.
I replied to an ad on Gumtree last night thinking this would already be sold.....but it wasn't so i went round and picked it up this arvo. Should solve some of my storage issues.....
Cost me $250, the KC tool units are in great shape, the top box is a cheapie without ball bearing runners. Not sure what i'll do with it yet.1915 17"x50" LeBlond heavy duty Lathe, 24" Queen city shaper, 1970's G Vernier FV.3.TO Universal Mill, 1958 Blohm HFS 6 surface grinder, 1942 Rivett 715 Lathe, 14"x40" Antrac Lathe, Startrite H225 Bandsaw, 1949 Hercus Camelback Drill press, 1947 Holbrook C10 Lathe.

I swapped some stuff, it's that not long ago old motorbike parts were worth nuffink but
it seems the the years have turned pig #### into strawberry jam, the press and drill are unused.
I have been going to build a workshop press for twenty years now, now I don't have to.
It's a 50000 kg hand pump job.
The drill has a MT4 spindle, 1100w motor (1 1/2 hp ?), B section belts, 150-2300 rpm
The lathe, ha........not to sure about that being a gloat but I thought I would post it anyway.
I saved it from going to the tip when I was a teenager, over 30 yrs ago, as you can see it's
an old line shaft lathe, some 10 years later I gave it to my brother in law and now he no longer
wanted it, if I hadn't accepted it back then it was heading to the scrappies.
It is a Greenwood & Batley, I think my old man got it going to keep me away from his lathe,
as you can see he made a motor and pulley mount, and fitted it in where the missing back gears
should be, the flat belt pulleys he made out of wood and he also knocked up a tail stock,
I don't how the saddle wheel got chewed up.
I thought that I might use it for a wood and plastic lathe because I hate getting that crap on
my other lathes ?

[QUOTE=Steamwhisperer;1650074]Gees, you're a tinny bugga Ewan.
Ben, $5 each is a serious bargain. Well done!!

The little blue can works like a charm! The bloke I bought it off said about a dozen people looked at it before I did and didn't buy it. I nearly knocked over my youngest to get to it.
I've yet to try the busted up one but I reckon it'll work, there's oil in the inside and no leaks I can see through all the dirt and stuff on the outside.
Cheers Ben.

My Latest acquisition
its a holbrook D15 tool room lathe
she needs to be dug out of where it is and that may take a while I recon. But despite the photograph mechanically it has been well looked after
15" swing 30" between centers and only weighs 1.75 ton dry
and you cant wipe this off my face but the wife looks a bit like this cos i already have another D15
holbrook B+W-900.jpg

So are you going to tell us anything about it or do we have to go googling?
