My plate was calibrated in 2016 and is old and used so was downgraded from a to b because of a low spot and they put a sticker on for orientation.

Macson benchtop surface grinder.

I convinced the wife to take a 90km detour on our drive from Melbourne to Adelaide after already making a tool related detour in Melbourne. This gloat is as much for my skill at persuasion as for the tool that I bought as a result.
In all its glory a Macson benchtop surface grinder. I have been wanting one of these for a few years now hopefully I won't be too disappointed.

Thanks for the pics Eric, now you need to find room for it amongst your other projects .

Girl, I don't wanna know about your mild-mannered alter ego or anything like that." I mean, you tell me you're, uh, super-mega-ultra-lightning babe? That's all right with me. I'm good. I'm good.

Another one for the TESA collection. When it's this big, is it called a macrometer? Unfortunately it only came with one of the 4 anvil set, but for $230 including post from the UK it was still well worth it.

What size is it, Elan??? I'm pretty sure a smart man like you could make the missing pieces.

Without test bars it will be of very limited use.

Standards are easy, I can make and check them at work, then set the preset on the mic to whatever I make.
Making a set of anvils will be harder, I'm told that we aren't equipped for centreless grinding and I obviously don't want to put a grinding centre in the middle of the measuring face. I'd also have to ensure that they're all in precisely 25.000mm steps so I don't have to reset for each one.

Hi Elan,
All the measuring bars on mine have an adjusting screw so they can be set accurately to length and zeroed.Best Regards:

Most if not all anvil and fixed end micrometers are adjustable , that's so they can be calibrated.
Thats why they come with the little ( C )spanners.

I know that analogue mics are adjustable, I've done several. The one I posted is digital though; mic the setting standard and press the button.
When Baron said measuring bars I thought he meant the standards themselves were adjustable, which is something I haven't heard of before.
