Nedshead,
Xmas came early then?
Put me down as insanely jealous then.
What a good haul of goodies.

Here are a few close up pics of the more notable items in the lot
This first two I'm not sure about, their function is obvious, but when and where do you use them?

With regards to the the first question, I've a similar setup on my dial indicator, if that helps.

The base of the Vernier Caliper would be home made, but a very nice job they did with it. Possibly made by a tool maker, or someone who knows how to do something well.

Woodfast used to be on Findon rd as far back as the seventies then moved to I think Botting street sadly they no longer exist as a manufacturer and just import lower quality Chinese manufactured items

Mystery solved,
Thanks Kryn.
with regards to the vernier height gauge I think you're right on the money, the Gumtree ad title was "tool maker tools" and that's also probably how the ad survived all day until I came home and spotted it in the miscellaneous section, always pays to check.

Thanks for that, if there's anything you want in that lot, you buy it all and I'll buy what's left
