    Default Sandvik carbide scrapers

As an adjunct to the scraping thread, I have two requests for scrapers. I'm going to be ordering them tomorrow if I can get ahold of my contact. I'll forward them at my cost which is around $120. The last time I spoke with him he said something about three left. Should I get them all?

Harty just sent me a PM regarding these...he got his from a local Sandvik rep for $99. My guy in the UK can't send them here for that, so I asked Harty to post the rep's details so evryone interested can get them direct. This'll save me some work, only now I'll have to reduce Stuart's price to be fair. Oh well, only money

Have just been onto Sandvik here and the part # quoted for the handle is 620-25-H10 and blades 620-2525-H10 but these unconfirmed at this stage. Took a while to find someone who thinks that's what the PN is. Awaiting price as the rest of Oz is holidaying.

I'm not so sure that that would be fair at all.

Greg, do you think beginners would benefit from more than one blade ground at different radius?

I think it worth it but that is just me... 60 and 90mm radii are the sweet spot IMO..

The bigger the radius, the wider the cut and the more power needed to scrape it off.. You do not want to be just chicken scratching, when roughing you need to see the chips fly...

Also broad radii are easy for a beginner to scratch the sides by accidentally tilting the blade.

    Hello Alan,

Is there any chance you could let me know the cost when you find out?

    Bob.

Why don't you use it and sell it to him at double the price as an pre experienced scraper tool.

Stuart, you can put different radii on each end of the insert if you want, then its just a half twist of the fastener to swap ends.

The numbers than C-47 posted is the same as on the bar code of the one I have here for you.

Alan can you discover if there are more than one insert in the box? And, does the handle come with one insert supplied?

That insert price will be per each... The scraper handle comes with one insert already attached..

Found my invoice from when I bought mine back in October 2008..

    620-25 H10 $91.50
    620-2525 H10 $53

Oh yes and plus GST on those prices as well..... Better check to see whether those quoted prices have GST or not...
