Default What type of oil can do I need

My lathe has oil nipples that look like the attached photo. What sort of oil gun do I need for these? The ball bearing in the centre is spring loaded.

I believe you need an oil pump type gun like this. They come with a pointy or radiused nozzle which will fit into your oil nipples. Should be available from the major lubrication equipment suppliers in Australia.

I just use a bog standard oil can..... Point the nozzle into the ball and pump away...

Don't feel too bad - this topic pops up every year or so.

I just use a 10ml syringe and a blunt 18g needle. I can push the needle just pass the ball and squirt oil behind it .The only problem is is winter when the oil is cold it it harder to squeeze out of the syringe.
