I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Few quick links which should give you a start.........

    Cabinet and Furniture Locks
Search for Woodworking Supplies at Woodcraft.com
All Products : Watson Brass Fittings, Reproduction Antique Cabinet Hardware

Aside from the usual local ones, McJings, Carbatec etc ...Lots more out there but with the $ almost par, then most US suppliers are attractive and carry more range, even though nearly all the brass fittings and such are made in China or India......order in bulk, not one off and you save on freight....

Perhaps more readers can add their favourites so we can add to our sources....

    Hope they help.........Lee,

Further to previous post, a couple more reference sources on lock making are :

Roper, C.A. The Complete Book of Locks and Locksmithing. Blue Ridge Summit, Pennsylvania: Tab Books, 1991. as well as

Tchudi, Stephen. Lock and Key. New York: Scribner's, 1993. - ......................sorry I don't have their ISBN's

If you would rather purchase repro's than make, then this link will add to the previous ones - I would add, the previous ones I have purchased from and would recommend, this one I haven't bought from as yet so usual warnings etc....
