polishing the shiny bits
in reference to an earlier thread about polishing lathe parts to make them shiny i see that a brass wire wheel was used but all i can find are brass coated steel are these the one and same

Hi tanii51.
I iniated the original post, and yes, I think the wire brushes I used were brass coated. The plating seems to stand up well to use, and stay on.

All the brass coating does is inhibit rust, a solid brass wheel is less damaging to the surface, you can buy them here
