    Question boat window frame

    hi guys

hope some one can help me.
i have a old fiberglass boat that i'm doing up.
it has a hardtop of fiberglass and its really heavy, and sit on top of the window
    (ali frame).
the window has being crack and i like to replace it with a stronger setup,
    like stainless steel frame.
but does any body know the best what type of frame i need to use and how to secure the glass in the window frame

    thanks

Is it just the window frame that supports the hard top? I'm wondering how hard it would be to make the window frame from fibreglass as well. Then the hardtop, frame and deck? could be bonded together.
As far as sealing the glass. I'm sure there is a marine grade Sikoflex thats made for that application.

Without a photo it is hard to have an opinion, but from what you say, perhaps in stead to make the whole frame from SS, you can reinforce the frame running two flat bar each side that will take most of the weight and keep the same frame for the glass (?)
