    Default Gas converter adapters

Currently I am using a improvised propane burner comprised of a spare oxy welding tip cut in half, tapped and from that I have a drilled out and cut in half M8 bolt screwed into a venturi burner which I constructed on a whim one night after a few drinks. Everything works perfectly fine and it is jetted for some serious heat (and sound) but at 50psi I have never felt perfectly safe using it

Works in anything that takes Comet oxy welding tips though

Anyway, tonight I snapped up this which for $50 is a bargain only issue to mating it with my pre existing regulator which has a 5/8"-18 UNF LH output and the hose and torch have BSP 3/8" LH threads. What would be the best way to connect the two? Ideally I would use a simple adapter but I'm not having any luck and I dont think I can have the hose refitted. I would like to avoid using cutting the hose and using nuts and tails.

    Any ideas?

Do you have a lathe if not a drill press.buy the taps required or cut the threads on a lathe, makeing a reducing socket.

I would rather not to be honest, uncommon taps are not cheap and I hate cutting threads with a passion.

Im pretty sure I have some acetylene hose tails at home. They are the type that doesn't need crimping. Easiest thing would be to cut the small one off the hose and fit one of these. You can have one of you want. I'll check tonight to make sure I still have them first.
pm me a postal address and I'll send one down if you want.

I'll wait till I get the hose first as it may be possible to get it refitted, if I am unable to do that I'll take up your offer. Happy to pay for postage.
