PS Might also have something to do with the forums being moved to new server last night from around 5pm onwards and may have problems again this some time afternoon for a little while as the attachments will be transferred to the new server then.
i know im only new here but how come no one post there pics using an external image host without having the links to click ie this way, you can resize the picture at the start then simply upload it then copy the "forum code" link to make it come up like this

We (the owner, admins and mod mods) prefer that you use the Forum picture attachment function because it keeps the pictures on our server and doesn't destroy a thread if you revoke or lose your picture hosting site.
The other reason is that in most cases they load faster too.
I'm experiencing problems trying to attach a photo to the forum, I've tried with Ubuntu using firefox, windows with firefox and the windows native browser but can't get a photo to attach, is anyone else having problems?
Does Flash Player need updating on your computer? I had to do that a couple of days ago.
Dean
Yeah it did Dean, I updated the flash player in windows and it's working again but Ubuntu is another story, it's been giving me all kinds of grief for the last couple of months, it just won't run properly anymore, it's a shame because I really liked using their operating system but now it's almost unusable for me.
Ben
When I go to attach a pic to a PM it comes up as requesting a URL, how does one go about doing so???
Regards and Thanks,
Kryn
https://www.woodworkforums.com/images/icons/icon1.pngI never had this problem when I was using Photoshop to process my pictures from when I joined the forums up until mid last year.
All of my 3700 pics (plus the 2000 odd ones that were lost) up loaded to these forums have been, cropped, level corrected, some have been colour corrected and all have been scaled (usually to 800x600), and exported as 50% compressed JPGs.
When I started using GIMP to process my photos suddenly many of them appeared as rotated even though I rotated them while processing. Eventually I worked out that GIMP exported images with the original image EXIF data (which included original image rotation) unless this was explicitly unchecked in the list of save preferences checkboxes.
Photoshop OTOH assumed you wanted to save the photo in the final working orientation.
As soon as I started deleting the original EXIF this the problem went away.
I suspect this is happening to many member's uploaded photos.
I know many people don't do any processing but for those that do this might be worth a try.
