    Default Sheet metal - Melbourne

I (well, specifically my son) is looking for some sheet metal, around 1.6mm - any good suppliers Melb eastern suburbs? He wants a piece about 300x900 but I don't think the shape is important. (it's to be cut up into lots of smaller bits, and polished)
(I might send him to a wreckers to see if he can get a scrap panel, if nothing else appears)
Sorry, should have said, mild steel. I think stainless may be too hard to work, he's a beginner in metal work. But maybe there are 'soft' grades?

    G'day Russ,
Try Bayswater Scrap Metals, 242 Canterbury Rd, Bayswater North.
They usually have a good variety of sheet aluminium, stainless and normal steel for sale by the kg.
Just rock up and have a look around the yard to see if you can find anything suitable, I bet you cant leave without picking something up weather you need it or not.
    Cheers,
    Greg.
