Problems getting on here??
Anyone else having problems with getting on here. Have had a few days where I get a message saying that "The server is busy and to try again later"??
Some times it takes about 3-4 hours, to get on.

OK, thanks Bob. Was it an unscheduled one, as I don't recall seeing any notification?

Been getting the same message here. Just visit other forums and try again later. Been happening for about a week.

Ditto,
Come on you guys!
There are people working on their weekend to keep this forum up to scratch. Remember it costs you nothing and those fixing the problems don't get paid.
Obviously theres a bit more than the photo issue going on, so bear with them, OK!

In my case this is not a recent issue. I have been having problems at least since the forum move and the connection reset issue has been around for a couple of years. This is a problem as I have lost a few long posts.
I am not pushing however, and if you read the posts nobody else appears to be either. To me they read like they are just confirming that they are not the only ones having issues, so bear with them, OK!

Hi Folks sorry it has taken so long to get back to this one. Been a bit hectic and also trying to replicate the problem.
Hectic has finished for a a few minutes.
So.... Still can't replicate the problem but here's a couple of things to look at.
- Firstly the 6:00am thing was a back up running and was only ever for less than a couple of minutes maximum.
- There is another backup at 02:12:32AM until 02:17:32AM that usually takes us off the air for exactly 5 minutes according to the incident report but it's more likely to be for just a few seconds as the check is only run every 5 minutes.
- Going back through our records there has been one major outage (Network error 06/05/2016 05:12:40PM called from Milan, Italy) which lasted for 5 hours
- Uptime for last 30 days 99.65% and the 30 days prior to the 5hr network error 98.65%
Please make sure you are not using www.metalworkforums.com as the forum address. It will work but sometimes caused login problems the correct url is metalworkforums.com note there is no www in that address. Many members had the www bit saved and we did ask for everyone to uss it without www when we went live over here.
It may be that people experiencing problems are using the old www bit in the web address.
Is anyone still having a problem with this. If so can you report it here along with the time you got a "Time out" or "The server is busy try again later" message and if and when you were able to get back on again.
Any problems will be server problems and not forum problems and we have no control over the servers. We do get reports of server outages etc almost the instance they happen and there is a protocol in place to get them notified and back on line asap but if there is no one around at our end then it could take quite some time to fix it.

Thanks for the follow up and the information Neil.
I have checked all my shortcuts, but they are correct.
I suspect some of my issues are related to having a slow satellite connection, which may see a lot of timer related errors on servers.
I hope these problems will be largely fixed next week as I am hoping my NBN Satellite service will be connected. I have had major problems with organising this as nobody seems to know what is going on. This NBN satellite thingy is brand new after all. My setup is non-standard. There has to be a direct line from the dish to the satellite without interference. The existing dish peeps thru the foliage of a massive gum tree. There is nowhere on the house where this is possible. The office people seem to be totally incapable of passing this information on to the installer. I expressly asked them to pass the information on and still they managed to fail.
The end result is that I have to provide a trench for the installer to lay conduit/cable from the ground position next to a paddock fence back to the house. I still have not been told exactly how deep this trench needs to be. I am going 450mm. The installer thought either 300mm or 450mm. The trench will be done Tuesday and the installer comes on Thursday.

Good luck with the installation Dean, hope it fixes all your problems for you and doesn't add any new ones.
Cheers - Neil

Can you let me know what time it was when you had a problem getting on and how long for.
We are putting on a more sophisticated monitoring program later today or tonight which will tell us a bit more info and maybe pin down exact times when there are any spikes in activity which could cause this problem.
Anyone else still having problems??
