Why can'nt admin advise us on a daily on the first page ...like they do about wanting helpers at Brisbane woodworking show, as to progress about this problem.
It would save a lot of unneccessary posts and us trying to see if the problem had been rectified. Okay its taking sometime and that is why we should be informed?????

Anyone interested in asking to move the metalworking forum back onto the woodwork forum?
Seems like the experiment was a good idea at the time, but it seems to have reduced the number of contributions and messed up the continuity of threads and now the posterity of visual references.....Cheers, Joe

Same thing has happened over there, about 2400 of my photos are gone.
BTW If you don't want to use Photobucket or google here is another trick.
Load your photo up on the wood workers forum in a dummy post
Then copy the Url to here
Then go delete the dummy post in the WWF.

In the threads Stuart provided links to, I had added photos from Google Photo. A simple copy and paste. The initial photos in the centring attachment thread still exist but two photos added yesterday morning using the same copy and paste have now disappeared. The photos I added to Richard's Milling a Radius thread have also gone.
Bob.

Must be a massive problem to take so long to fix.

I Know it looks like we aren't doing anything about this but to date I have run around 80 or more tests. Steven has been all over it ait's git us both completely stumped. To top it off I haven't been able to replicate the red thing but Steven has. We are both at our wits end and having a really concerted effort again tonight.
If that doesn't work we might have to go to some more drastic lengths which we've been avoiding.
Cheers - Neil
PS Copy and past as a rule doesn't work on forums for anyone but the person who did the copy and paste. You can copy a url and past that into a post between or upload a the url through Insert Image, the Attachment icon in the Advanced editor or through Manage Attachment. If you have the pics in your album they should also be uploadable from there.
Pic below was taken from U-Beaut web site it. Copy link location then paste if between the [img] [/img]

I get the same error that R.C. posted when I click on the red exclamation icon after each failed upload. The files actually upload completely (moving bar symbol working fine), the fault and error occurs AFTER the upload. I think the error code pasted by R.C. should tell Steven what is going on. It is an internal server error, most likely related to the permissions of the uplod folder. This is an error that has been discussed many times on vBulletin forums. Try attachment directory permissions set to 777 and disable mod security in th .htaccess file... Steven can follow this up starting here for example: Error #2038 when uploading attachments - vBulletin Community Forum

We need your help.
Can some of you try posting photo's and let us know in here what happens. what message('s) you get, red dot with ! etc.
Steven is able to get pics on and works fine. I'm not getting even small files to upload from the computer.
Done dozens and dozens of trials so far and need your further input.
Cheers - Neil

I have tried several different sized files from 12kb, 135kb right up to 1,3 and 5meg and all to no avail.
The files seems to upload but when it finishes I get the red exclamation mark. Hovering the pointer over that exclamation mark shows the error as RC says.
