Motor hard wired for Y - therefore no delta?
Hi all,
I got a 3ph motor to install on the lathe with VFD (motor kindly donated by a forum member). But looking at it, I am guess this one is not delta configurable without getting into the guts of it? (which I am distinctly underqualified to do).

all advice appreciated.
Greg.

A motor rewinder should be able to do it but you will most likely find a suitable one on gumtree for less than half what it costs a rewinder to do it.
The screw terminal behind the brown wire looks like it could be the common point - are there 3 wires running to that terminal.
If so it will be much easier to convert as there is no need to open up the motor.
I still recommend you get motor rewinder to do it as the motor rewinder will hopefully test the motor to make sure its worth converting.
