    Default Looking for memories...

This has been at a local antique dealer for close on a year. I finally gave in, and she reduced the non-negotiable price. I guess we are both happy..

I'd really love a picture or hint as to what it may have looked like.., or what it was..
It will become a project of some sort, whether metal or wood or both, plus some electronics

(posted in wwf and madmodder but I still have no idea what it is..)

I guess it is some sort of arcade / gambling machine, the centre row of numbers rotates on a drum to change the 'odds'.
There is a row of lights 1-4 presumably one of which lights up to show the winner - or maybe 1 of 4 players.

Anyone ever seen anything like it? I understand from the seller there was also a horse racing version.

I should have explained that I just have this display part.
    The body is the mystery.

Inside the display is a large drum, which has rows of 'the odds'. It is stepped around by a large solenoid. Haven't worked out if it is a 'stepper', or runs while power is applied. Probably a stepper, 1 step per pulse.
The end of the drum has a row of contacts and what may be slip rings which presumably functions to change the cross-connects between a row of contacts thereby determining the outcome of the event, or somehow setting some 'seed' of a random outcome.

There is a row of 4 globes (Philips Holland) behind the 1-4 windows, plus a couple of globes to illuminate the odds display.

I'm guessing 1930-1950 but have no evidence of that.
