Did you read the fine print ? $ 19 for 10 kg . There is more pricing under the link " More on Plans & Pricing " .
If it's Australia wide then it's a courier agency . I think I would prefer to deal directly with the courier .

Sendle seem to operate mainly via Fastway, and are a pretty good deal between points within the Fastway network, for instance $20 Laidley to Canberra for 10kg. Nice thing is that Sendle pick up - make and pay for the booking on-line, leave the parcel at the front door, all done.

Anything is better than Australia Post. I had an item shipped on Monday from Sydney. I needed it by the weekend. Got home Friday to see a card on front screen door. They tried to deliver, but I was still at work. Rather than send back to local post office for me to pick up, it went back to distribution centre. Now I will not get it till Tuesday. All other registered items I have had sent go to local post office before. This time was different because I got a red car instead of blue. Some crap about blue card means it goes to local post office and red they attempt to deliver, so if not it goes back to distribution centre.

I find it interesting to read this now. Earlier tonight I was looking at My Ebay orders. I have bought a mill power feed unit and a 110v stepdown transformer to run it. The power feed is coming via Toll, is listed as having been received, and my thought at seeing the delivery method was darn!! The transformer is coming via Aus Post parcel and is listed as having been received and in transit. My reponse to this was good.

It always depends on the situation. I know my position is not common. I do wish that couriers would stop claiming they will deliver anywhere in the country when that is not true. I had to laugh the last time a courier rang me for instructions. I gently suggested that as they had contracted to deliver it, maybe that was what he should do. The address is on the parcel after all. He came up with some story about not having the time because he had to get to an appointment with his bank manager. I felt like saying "tell someone who cares", but I restrained myself and told him where to drop the parcel so it would be delivered to me, by the postman. At least I get them these days. Not that many years ago I had to avoid buying stuff that was delivered by courier because they just dropped it at the end of their run 60km away and there it sat until I started enquiring about it. A few times I told couriers to pick it up again and send it back, hopefully explaining to the sender that they are not able to deliver it. My other option was to send it to a post box, which you can do sometimes. Just don't tell them it is a post box. The post box is in SA tho so it takes longer to arrive.

I find some couriers are good and some companies are very bad . The Australia post courier Star Track is unreliable and has a lot of lazy drivers that just put the card in you mail box and don't even try to deliver the goods and at the end of their run dump the parcels on the post office staff . They will not even walk up a 50 meter driveway ! However lately they have been good so the service may be improving here , I think the Post Office is getting wise to the game . I would rather they send the parcel to the post office than dump it on the front step in plain view . I tend to ask for sign on deliver wherever possible so they can't just dump it . Some drivers are really good and do their job properly and some are lazy . Sack them . I am sure there is plenty of people that need a job .

Yes, some things these days are improving. I have gone from not being able to get items couriered, to only occasionally getting a phone call asking for instructions. The postman is pretty good too, despite the number of complaints I hear about "Frank". He has delivered some pretty heavy stuff and some pretty big stuff. We have authorised him to sign for us so he does just leave stuff at the gate, but the risk of theft is pretty low out here. We can ring the local pub/store/post office, put anything on the slate and have them pass it on to Frank for delivery. Home delivery from the pub 25km away. You need to be desperate to pay his prices tho.

I have received a message saying an item has been delivered. This means that it has been dropped off for "Frank" to deliver today. It is listed as being sent from "Easy Care Hardware". I cannot find any items bought from "Easy Care Hardware". I have one bought from "Just Hardware2000". Tracking is so bl&%$ useless. It is a bit like looking at EFTPOS transactions from a month ago and trying to work out who you made that purchase from and the bank statement information is useless. I have heard stories where businesses have changed totally, but retained their old EFTPOS details. A Butcher buys a service station? Details like tracking and EFTPOS transactions should have meaningful information. I am constantly receiving emails about EBay deliveries and because there is no item information, not having a clue which item they refer to.

Yes I know what you you are saying , some companies sell the product in one company name and it is delivered in another name . It's all done for tax and liability purposes . Just like your Doctor might be Dr Fred Smith but behind the scenes he trades as Sundance Pty Ltd.
EFTPOS transactions are a real pain when you can't remember one for the life of you . My wife is very good at book keeping she had to be to survive on what we get . What she does is photo copy every receipt because they tend to fade and then write on the photo copy what we bought from who and when . Then clip the original receipt to that and file it . It sounds expensive but in the long run it saves you time and money .
A few times over the years it has saved us being over charged and wrongly charged on credit cards , deliveries and such by having all the pertinent details on that photo copy with what this person said and what was promised etc. My wife would have made a terrific detective . I love it when we are having problems with something and my wife says hang on I will get my receipt . I know right then they are going down .

That is exactly what I mean. It can be frustrating.

Yes. I love it when a plan comes together.

Funny thing. Today the parcel from Toll turned up. Its funny because it is not even in transit yet. Still back at the depot according to the tracking. Why do they bother with tracking?

It doesn't matter whether its Australia Post or a Courier , everyone thinks that if a package it heavy then it can be dropped or kicked around .
To me weight means treat with some care, also not everything is plastic containers of Viagra.
