There is a 48 holder on eBay at present in the US with postage it's about $160.00 US.
Have you considered making your own,I would think it would be a lot cheaper.

Thank you kindly for this pointer. I have checked out the item mentioned and considering it has not got the tool bar I thought it was not value for money, especially when you add the current very high cost of postage. I am hoping that somewhere in Australia there will be one for sale. Another member has agreed to sell me a Armstrong #401 which is 50% of what I need , now for the #48. Someone? Regards Norm

It would help if you could post a picture or two - I wouldn't have a clue what an Armstrong #40 looks like for example. I do have this one (1/2" square shank)

but what it is I don't know.

Betnorm I have 2 Armstrong toolholders one is a 40 and the other is larger.
I can't tell you the model of the bigger tool because a previous owner has skimmed about one millimeter of both sides and removed much of the marking.
    Shank size is 33.3 x 15.6 x 150mm.
Not in pristine condition but a good user all the same.
$50 plus postage if you want it.

    Wow that was quick.
I'm only selling the larger one at this time.
I kept them because once I get more regular employment I hope to buy another shaper.

Thanks to all who have helped so far. I am now on the hunt for another Armstrong #48 and also a T2S holder and a couple of 15/16" boring bars with square holes aprox 3/8" for cutters. Check out those rusty old things under the bench and turn them to cash while I put them to work. Regards to All. Norm

Thanks to all those who have helped. I now have all the holders and bars needed for the Shaper. The refurb is finished and when I get the 15/16" cutter bars on Monday she is a goer. Have just started work on the clean up of my 1960G Lathe and hope to have it done in the next couple of weeks. Regards To All. Norm
