Default Inception (the movie) Spinning top

    Hi Everybody
Hereafter is a short video of my Inception handmade spinning top.
Actually I only have a manual lathe so it was quit tricky to carve these curves.
I made this spinning top for my brother middle age birthday, he is a fan of this movie.
Probably, one day, I will convert my Lathe to cnc, it will be easier to do this kind of project... but need less skill...

Cute , if you build a ball turner for the lathe you can cut concave and convex curves . I built a slightly modified Steve Bedair ball turned works ok . https://www.google.com/search?biw=1536&bih=701&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=u43yWfrFOYH88gXQgY6IDg&q=lathe+ball+turner&oq=lathe+ball+turned&gs_l=psy-ab.1.0.0i13k1.15547.16649.0.18453.6.6.0.0.0.0.407.629.2-1j0j1.2.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..4.1.406....0.NjOfjGAquME#imgrc=p7uoeBEJ0kXNjM:

unfortunately, have to suffer through dumb ads after it was taken down from better video platforms.

I liked the bit where you put the drilled block in between the workpiece and the tailstock and have now pinched that idea and started using it.

Nive Job Xavier. That bolt looks like it was made of quality steel. I might make a spinning top myself. If I only I knew where to get a M48 bolt.

You can buy these in a huge range of metals. I like the Damascus one. Let's see one of you blokes make one in tungsten!
