    Default Tyre Depth Gauge DRO

This is just an adaptation of the one Rob (Xanadu on YouTube) made. I buried three 10x10 magnets in pockets in the aluminium block. This makes it easier to remove fine swarf. It also drastically reduces the pull of the magnets, so I drilled the holes to within about 1.5mm of the face of the aluminium.

The probe has a 6mm diameter tip that has three 3mm diameter x 1.5mm long magnets glued into the end. These provide enough pull to keep the probe attached to the saddle, but not so much that they rip the guts out of the depth gauge if you go beyond it's full travel.

A cap screw prevents damage to the depth gauge when the saddle is wound too far to the right.
