    Default woodfast universal woodworker

I stated this project last year, so have some time to do some work on it. I got this machine from my local scapy $50 as you can see it is missing a lot of parts. I'll have to modify it to work as a bench saw only, the bad part is one side of the casting has some cracks that will need to be repaired. I will remove the planer part on the shaft as to reduce any stress on that side of the metal casting that will be welded.

do you think you will braze or nickel weld the cracks? the casting does look quite thin in that fillet.

Yeah the Woodfast machine are well built, this one is very heavy that's why i grab it. The heavy the machine the better Some more photos here, tack weld 1/4 inch nuts to screw on one of the covers and will make up the other cover. The machine will sit on a steel box platform with caster wheels.
