Brand new member from Toowoomba
Hi,
I'm a brand new member from Toowoomba. I'm into metal but lately find myself doing more wood than anything which I am enjoying as well. Really an IT guy but enjoy the workshop and anything engineering related. Recently due to work have had the enjoyment of learning a cnc router (hence the wood). Would love Cnc milling but don't have access to that at this stage. Have used a metal lathe a handful of times and can weld a little bit. Look forward to learning lots.

Welcome to the forum fellow T-Bar resident
Sing out if you want to catch up, I have a fairly equipped workshop but time is always against me. My setup is very heavily metal with only a couple of wood tools to do just the basics. Also have a Taig Desktop CNC Mill but it doesn't get much use as I'm normally running a bigger manual mill in the workshop.
Cheers

Welcome to a top Forum leahy, if it's not to much to ask, could you change your location from AU to Toowoomba please?
It makes life easier for fellow members to know where you are located if you ever need a hand or want to know where to purchase a particular item, no point telling you a place in Sydney if you're located elsewhere.

Thanks for fixing that, and again Welcome. At some time or another we're all new to something, so don't be frightened to ask any questions, that's what we're all about helping others.

Hi leahy 268,
Welcome to our MetalWork Forums.
As Kyrn says don't be frightened to ask questions.I might add though, please give as much pertinent information as possible to any enquiry.
Details like what you are trying to make, how many, the material type, the section type, ie sheet, flat, angle and round.
Even some info on the tools you are considering to use to complete the job. All those things make it so much easier for our responders to nail down the best answer to help someone get started on a a project.
I never cease to be amazed at the generosity of a the talented people who make up our members in giving the time and expertise to help their online mates.
Photos are great too.
To help you I will PM some links and directions to help you feel your way around the program.
Welcome again,
Grahame
