Marvin from Mar (should be Mars, real name Ray)
I'm a retired mech design guy from Sydney into vintage speedway and have just picked up a 1950s Mars 6" lathe with speedway history behind it. Even Sir Jack Brabham has used it.
There is not much out there about these lathes and most of the factory info was destroyed in a flood in Brisbane.
I know there are several Mars owners out there. Could someone please help me with diagrams and info particularly for the cross slide and compound slide. Mine are stuffed.
I know the cross slide is 5/8" 5 TPI LH ACME thread but have no dimensional details of the shaft yet.
