Fuel Tank Strainer
Hi
I thought I'd start a new post on fuel tank strainers.
Refer to my pic of my old one. This screws into the bottom of the fuel tank. The mesh strainer takes the course stuff out of the tank I'm guessing . I need to replace the strainer ... A bloke told me that something like a VN commodore has a similar strainer which I could retrofit.
The fuel is a stroke mix ...
Do I also need an inline filter like at one of the Automotive suppliers.
Does anyone one have any tips or clues ?

The brass strainer mesh in your pics looks Ok to me , the end cover of it is missing? Can you solder a new end onto it? I have some stainless gauze I found at a swap meet .
Plastic Inline filters are OK if installed in the right position , don't install it above the engine . If there is a fire it will melt and spew fuel all over the place

An inline filter would be a good idea. They are designed to filter out much finer particles than mesh.
